The Love of Shiva

3 March 2019 Sanathana Vani Vikas Varma

On the occasion of Mahashivratri I offer my salutations to Shiva, the lord of consciousness that pervades every atom of this beautiful creation.

Shiva, ever absorbed in the Self, is the great witness of the Cosmic Drama or the Cosmic Play of creation, sustenance and dissolution popularly known as Life. The Great Shiva does not participate in but merely witnesses the Game or Drama of Life as it is aware of the truth at all times.

The truth that all that exists (also known as Jagat) is the manifestation of the Self or the Absolute (Brahman). So, all that exists on this planet including all human beings are a manifestation of the One Shiva that is formless and attributeless.

All of us who are participating in the Game of Life are all Shiva’s who have forgotten their true identity. This lifetime is for realising the truth of our reality and experiencing our oneness with Shiva.

The Great Witness does not live in a far away cave but in the depths of our Self silently witnessing our life. We don’t need to run outside to temples and sacred places to propitiate the Great Shiva. The greatest of all the treasures lies within waiting for one to awaken to this truth.

Shivaratri, the dark night of Shiva, is the night of awakening and removing the darkness of ignorance. It’s the night when the planetary consciousness is raised to assist mankind to experience the cosmic truth.

Be One with Shiva tonight and become an eternal witness to life, here and now. Don’t let this opportunity slip away. Let the darkness of the night give way to the light of awareness of your divinity.
Aham Brahmasmi !

May the Love of Shiva be yours forever. Happy Shivaratri to all my brothers and sisters.

Love, Light and Awareness,

Vikas Varma
